ABOUT US:

Lane County English Corner is a free community service project organized by local English-speaking volunteers and sponsored by the Bahá'is of Lane County East. Our goals are to help learners of English, promote community building, and strengthen friendships among the many different cultures in our beautiful Lane County region.

There is no fee to join any of our activities:

  • Monthly in-person activities in the Eugene, Oregon area

    • Family-friendly parties, English-language games, singing, culture sharing activities, picnics, hikes, potluck meals, fun & laughter together with our diverse family of humanity.  Participants of all language levels are welcome.

  • Weekly online English conversation practice
    • Chat about fun and interesting topics in English, such as "Cultural Differences," "Childhood," and "Staying Positive." Participate by video on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Receive an email each week with a link, a new topic, and sample questions for discussion.  One or two native-English speakers guide conversations and help with English language questions. Most participants speak English at an intermediate level or above.
